Sunday Strollies
For All Your Dog's Socialisation Needs

Sunday Strollies
For the young and for the old, this walkies group is for those dogs that can only manage a half hour walk. Held fortnightly on a Sunday at 2pm. Cost £1.50 a dog. This group socialisation walk takes you in and around the beautiful village of Thornton Dale. It is designed for your dog to experience maximum socialisation in a rural setting. You will meet ducks, farm animals, people and dogs. You will walk in fields, on footpaths and alongside roads.

Socialisation For All
Reward based dog training incorporates good socialisation which is not just people and other dogs but other animals, environments and noisy things. Traffic, household appliances, toys, gunshots, etc, are all noisy things that puppies often find quite frightening. Teaming socialisation walks with classes means your dog will have more opportunity to get used to these things and cope better when confronted with them. Even older dogs have these problems through a lack of socialisation or development of a fear of something. I know one dog that avoids walking on manhole covers because one day he walked over a rickety one! And another dog who runs and hides from ice cream vans because she was walking with her owner when one started up its music next to her! These are quite common problems and good socialisation is the cure.
